Compare EMG needle electrodes

Compare monopolar, concentric and hypodermic EMG needle electrodes, together with their cables, extensions and adapters. Compare each series below, then select the required needle length and gauge on its product page.

Series Needle type Lead or cable Pack quantity
PRO Protectrode Monopolar with Protectrode protective cap Attached 24-inch lead 30
DTM Monopolar Attached 24-inch lead 50; 75 mm model contains 10
TEC Technomed Monopolar Attached 30-inch lead 25
UTC Technomed Concentric Requires separate SFC cable 25
DIN Technomed Hypodermic with Luer lock Attached 30-inch lead 10

Which cable fits UTC concentric needles?

UTC needles require the SFC reusable shielded cable, sold separately. Its standard configuration has a 1.25 m cable and a 5-pin DIN equipment connector.

Which needles include an attached lead?

PRO, DTM, TEC and DIN needles include attached leads. PRO and DTM have 24-inch leads; TEC and DIN have 30-inch leads. Equipment adapters or extensions may still be needed for your setup.

The Electrode Store's monopolar EMG needles have a very sharp cone-shaped tip, by design.  This allows the needle electrode to puncture and “divide” the skin and subdermal muscle tissue rather than “slice,” which, while minimal, can be seen in some needle electrodes that have a beveled, lancet, or trocar tip.

Our monopolar needle electrodes are considered by many to be the gold-standard in the market because of their sharpness, coating quality, signal quality, and safety features (such as the Protectrode™ safety cap, allowing one-handed re-capping).
