RM Electrode® Canine Now Available
We’re pleased to announce that the RM Electrode® Canine is now available through The Electrode Store. This device was developed specifically for veterinary ophthalmology and is designed for use in full-field electroretinogram (ERG) recording procedures in canine patients.
The RM Electrode Canine is also priced competitively as a cost-effective option for veterinary practices.
Designed Specifically for Canine ERG Testing
The RM Electrode Canine is the first soft contact lens electrode designed specifically for dogs. It was developed to address practical challenges commonly encountered during canine ERG testing, including patient movement, electrode stability, and setup time.
The electrode incorporates a unique light-scattering property, which reduces the need for precise stimulus alignment with the eye. This design allows clinicians to obtain consistent ERG responses in less time, particularly when working with restless or anxious patients.
Signal Quality and Stability
In comparative testing with traditional ERG electrodes, recordings obtained with the RM Electrode Canine demonstrated high stability and a high signal-to-noise ratio. In evaluated cases, the amplitude and signal-to-noise ratio of recordings obtained with the RM Electrode Canine met or exceeded those obtained with traditional electrodes.

Patient Comfort and Clinical Workflow

Both versions are shipped sterile and are intended for diagnostic full-field ERG recording procedures. These are available here.
Compatibility and Use
The RM Electrode Canine is compatible with most ERG systems. Reference ranges obtained using the Burian Allen (unipolar) Electrode or the ERG-Jet can be used when recording with the RM Electrode Canine.
The electrode is not indicated for use longer than one hour per procedure.
